Volleyball Recap: Coral Springs' Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Coral Springs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cypress Bay Lightning by a score of 3-2. The Colts were not able to make up for their defeat to the Lightning from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Coral Springs took Cypress Bay into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 22-25, 15-9.

Joel Jobi paced Coral Springs' offense, picking up 15 kills. Jobi got some help from Mickinson Jean-Mary and his 24 assists. Jean-Mary was also a major player on defense: he and Princeton Munroe Jr shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Coral Springs' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Cypress Bay, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Springs will face off against West Broward at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each contest than the last. As for Cypress Bay, they will challenge Cardinal Gibbons at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
