Volleyball Recap: Cooper City Cowboys vs. Flanagan Falcons

Cooper City and Flanagan squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Cooper City had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Monday.

Matthew Brion paced Cooper City's offense, picking up 17 kills. Brion got some help from Jackson Kerr and his 11 assists. Brion was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

Flanagan found their leader in sophomore Daniel Chang, who had 20 digs and three assists. Chang is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 17 or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Cooper City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Flanagan, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Cooper City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flanagan, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Cypress Bay on the 29th.
