Basketball Recap: Shining Rock Classical Academy Takes a Loss

Shining Rock Classical Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 60-30 loss at the hands of the Carolina Day Wildcats. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.

Carolina Day found their leader in freshman Keana Smith, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 24 boards. That makes it six consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Carolina Day's points. Another player making a difference was Layla Hunter, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Shining Rock Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Carolina Day, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Shining Rock Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carolina Day, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Mount Pisgah Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
