Basketball Recap: August Martinez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bismarck over Oak Ridge + How To Watch

After flying high against Bourbon on Saturday, Bismarck came back down to earth. The Indians lost 64-39 to the Oak Ridge Blue Jays on Monday. The Indians were down 49-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Bismarck lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was August Martinez, who posted ten points in addition to eight blocks and seven boards. He has been hot, having posted three or more blocks the last six times he's played. Talon Goodman was another key player, going 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points.

Bismarck has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. Oak Ridge's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bismarck and Arcadia Valley will compete for holiday cheer at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oak Ridge, they will square off against Lesterville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
