Baseball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers.

Caleb Rose was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Kenneth Davis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. That run was his first of the season.

Calvary Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for The Pilgrim Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Calvary Christian Academy will head out to challenge Bristol at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for The Pilgrim Academy, they will be playing at home against Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
