Basketball Recap: Holly Hill Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Peyton Strickland and Milly Kate Prescott

On Friday, the Holly Hill Academy Raiders came up short against the Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics Wildcats and fell 42-33. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Wildcats are ranked 91st).

Holly Hill Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Milly Kate Prescott, who posted 12 points and five rebounds, and Peyton Strickland, who put up nine points and six rebounds. Strickland is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Holly Hill Academy dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Holly Hill Academy will face off against Clarendon Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lowcountry Wildcats Athletics, they will square off against Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
