Basketball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Clarenceville Trojans and fell 81-38. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-13.

Despite the defeat, Lutheran had strong showings from Max Brannon, who posted 14 points and five boards, and Joey Hollyer, who had eight points and five rebounds. Those 14 points gave Brannon a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Clarenceville, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season.

Lutheran will square off against Parkway Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Clarenceville has already played their next contest (against Garden City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
