Recap: Northeastern Eagles vs. Pasquotank County Panthers
The Northeastern Eagles put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Pasquotank County on the road to the tune of 43-7. Considering Northeastern has won five games by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Tyselle Spencer, who rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Spencer hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for nine straight games. Paul Sylvester also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Northeastern's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. It was a group effort, with three picking up two apiece.
Northeastern's win was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 10-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-10 First Flight and 2-8 Pasquotank County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 42.7% over those games). As for Pasquotank County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Northeastern does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pasquotank County also has no future games currently scheduled.
