Soccer Game Preview: Lowell vs. Kankakee Valley

The Lowell Red Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Kankakee Valley Kougars at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kankakee Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Coming off of a narrow one-goal win over Hobart, Lowell left no doubt about the outcome versus Rensselaer Central on Saturday. The Red Devils put the hurt on the Bombers with a sharp 9-1 win. Considering Lowell have won three matches by more than seven goals this season, another big win was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Kankakee Valley kept a clean sheet against Merrillville on Saturday. They snuck past the Pirates with a 1-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Kankakee Valley's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 108th, while Merrillville are ranked 271st).

Lowell has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That run has powered them to a 4-3 record this season. Those wins were made possible by their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those four games. As for Kankakee Valley, they have now won four of their last five games on the road. That gives them a 5-2 record this season.
