Recap: Horseshoe Bend Mustangs vs. Tri-Valley Titans
The Horseshoe Bend Mustangs came into Tuesday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 63-53 victory over Tri-Valley on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Horseshoe Bend, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Horseshoe Bend's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Layth Bromgard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Bromgard is crushing the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaelun Jones, who scored 19 points.
The win got Horseshoe Bend back to even at 9-9. As for Tri-Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Horseshoe Bend will square off against the Lumberjacks at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Idaho (Council is ranked 125th, while the Mustangs are ranked 114th). As for Tri-Valley, they will head out on the road to take on the Ramblers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
