Baseball Game Preview: Davie War Eagles vs. Glenn Bobcats

For the second straight game, Davie will face off against Glenn. The War Eagles will take on the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Davie is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.

On Tuesday, Davie got the win against Glenn by a conclusive 13-3. The War Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Davie got a great performance from Tucker Hobbs as he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). Hobbs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Coy James was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Stewart, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

Davie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Davie's record now sits at 11-12. As for Glenn, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-11.

Glenn's pitching crew better be locked in on Thursday. Davie hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game.
