Softball Recap: Harmony Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Harmony, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Taylor Wildcats on Saturday as Harmony made off with an 11-0 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Longhorns needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Lindsay Green made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jade Allen was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Emerson Aslan, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Harmony lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Harmony's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harmony will square off against Bishop Moore at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Taylor, they will challenge Atlantic at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlantic has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.29 runs per game on average), something Taylor will no doubt try to take advantage of.
