Softball Game Preview: Del Valle Cardinals vs. Austin Maroons

The Del Valle Cardinals will challenge the Austin Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Austin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Del Valle, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Del Valle got the win against Akins by a conclusive 10-1. Considering the Cardinals have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Austin fell victim to Lake Travis and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 16-0. The Maroons haven't had much luck with the Cavaliers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Austin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Everly Benkert, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Del Valle's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-4-1. As for Austin, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Everything went Del Valle's way against Austin when the teams last played back in February, as Del Valle made off with a 16-0 victory. Does Del Valle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Austin turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
