Basketball Recap: Furtah Prep Comes Up Short

Furtah Prep and Heritage squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Furtah Prep had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Heritage Hawks by a score of 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Falcons have suffered since January 26, 2024.

Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but MaKari Townsend led the charge by going 5-for-6 on his way to 15 points and seven rebounds. Townsend is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last nine games he's played. Barron Ofosu-Kwarteng was another key player, putting up nine points.

Furtah Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 22-6. As for Heritage, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-6.

As of now, neither Furtah Prep nor Heritage have any future games scheduled.
