Softball Recap: Male Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Male had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Woodford County on Tuesday. The Bulldogs blew past the Yellowjackets 11-1. Considering the Bulldogs have won 14 contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Lily Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mya Green, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Male always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodford County only posted an OBP of .318.

Male is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Woodford County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-13-1.

Coming up, Male will head out to face off against Pleasure Ridge Park at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Woodford County, they will host Ballard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
