Last Friday, Fountain Lake faced Subiaco Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fountain Lake took a serious blow against Subiaco Academy, falling 60-12. Fountain Lake was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-6.
Meanwhile, even though Parkers Chapel scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Cutter-Morning Star still came out on top. Cutter-Morning Star snuck past Parkers Chapel with a 66-62 win. That's two games straight that Cutter-Morning Star has won by exactly four points.
Peyton Mills continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 257 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 233 yards and three touchdowns. Mills is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Michael Sexson was another key contributor, picking up 139 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cutter-Morning Star's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Eston Capella and his two sacks.
Fountain Lake has been struggling this season, as they've lost six of their first seven matchups, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season. As for Cutter-Morning Star, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-2.
