Softball Recap: Surry Central Takes a Loss

If Surry Central was riding high fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Alleghany last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Surry Central Golden Eagles came up short against the West Stokes Wildcats on Tuesday, falling 13-3. The defeat continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Layla Wall was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

Surry Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Surry Central will square off against Mount Airy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Stokes, a feisty cat fight will be fought as West Stokes Wildcats face off against High Point Christian Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
