Wichita County fell to Meade 73-18 last week, the largest margin of any game. Colton Northrup was a bright spot for the Indians, as he ran for 73 yards and caught 1 pass for 20 yards in the loss.
Decatur Community's dynamic duo of Noah Nelson and Troy Juenemenn proved to be unstoppable against Oakley, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nelson threw for 96 yards and Juenemenn had 78 yards receiving. Kyle Breth helped Decatur Community's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Jantz Budde provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Wichita County lost to the Buffaloes. He completed 5 passes for 71 yards and also ran for 25 yards. Budde's key target this week was Casey Day, who caught 3 passes for 36 yards.
Faron Kraft's team's Budde and Day have formed a dream team this season, leading Northwest Kansas in both passing and receiving yards. Budde has thrown for 510 yards this season, while Day has 13 catches for 225 yards. Dayton Dreher from the Red Devils leads the league in rushing with 647 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when St. Francis takes on the Indians. As it stands, the Indians are in second, while Wichita County is in third.
Decatur Community fell 12-6 to the Plainsmen in the closest game of the week. Juenemenn ran for 17 yards and caught 3 passes for 78 yards in the defeat.
