Basketball Recap: Camden White's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Northeast Academy over Kerr-Vance Academy

Northeast Academy was the 43-37 winner over Kerr-Vance Academy when they last played one another back in November of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 59-50 to the Spartans on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Northeast Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camden White, who shot 67% from the field en route to 15 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds. With that strong performance, White is now averaging an impressive 2.6 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Judson Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards.

It was another big night for LJ Siplen, who posted 24 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Kerr-Vance Academy. What's more, Siplen posted five steals, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Stovall, who put up 15 points.

Northeast Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southampton Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Albemarle School at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
