Basketball Recap: North Kingstown Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact North Kingstown can now relate to. They received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 89-75 to the Central Knights. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent defeat being a 85-74 loss back in January.

Despite the loss, North Kingstown still got an impressive performance from Michael Deorsey, who went 16-for-25 on his way to 39 points. Those 39 points gave Deorsey a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Bodington, who posted 20 points.

North Kingstown's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

North Kingstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central, they will face off against Barrington at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Barrington's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
