Basketball Game Preview: Centaurus Warriors vs. Holy Family Tigers

Centaurus is 0-6 against Holy Family since February of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Centaurus Warriors will challenge the Holy Family Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Centaurus was fully in charge, breezing past Wheat Ridge 59-17. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Farmers are ranked 321st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ingrid Lorton was her usual excellent self, going 7 of 12 en route to 19 points along with six steals and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Rose Pacheco, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and six steals.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Holy Family took on Niwot on Friday. Holy Family put the hurt on Niwot with a sharp 63-37 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Centaurus has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Holy Family, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Centaurus took a serious blow against Holy Family in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 67-31. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Centaurus was down 41-12.
