The Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Eagles gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past Wayne City 59-38.
Wayne City's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Greenlea Vaughan, who scored 17 points. Vaughan scored a full 44.7% of Wayne City's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kenna Anselment was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Odin/Patoka/Sandoval's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Wayne City, the last time they won on the road was back two weeks ago. Having now lost three straight away matches, they've bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wayne City at 5:00 p.m. on December 14th. As for Wayne City, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodlawn at 6:15 p.m. on Monday.
