Volleyball Recap: Superior Comes Up Short

Superior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eau Claire North Huskies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Jazmine Smith paced Superior's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Anna Matthias and her 12 assists. Isabelle Barker controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Superior's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Eau Claire North, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coincidentally, Superior and Eau Claire North will both be playing Marshfield the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Huskies will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
