Basketball Recap: East Burke's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

East Burke lost to Smoky Mountain back in February of 2016, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The East Burke Cavaliers walked away with a 69-60 victory over the Smoky Mountain Mustangs. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Cavaliers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Smoky Mountain still got an impressive performance from Custer Prenger, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 boards. The match was Prenger's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Ben Brown was another key player, putting up 12 points.

East Burke's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5. As for Smoky Mountain, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

East Burke wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 87-49 loss against McDowell on the 27th. As for Smoky Mountain, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-60 defeat against Avery County on the 27th.
