Basketball Recap: South Kingstown Takes a Loss

South Kingstown and Westerly squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but South Kingstown had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Westerly Bulldogs 54-20. The loss continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Westerly found their leader in freshman Ella Reyes, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave Reyes a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Pellegrino, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

South Kingstown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Westerly, their victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6.

South Kingstown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westerly, they have already played their next game, a 52-35 win against Moses Brown on the 21st.
