New Palestine was the 3-0 winner over Hamilton Heights when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Dragons fell 3-1 to the Huskies on Wednesday. The Dragons' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While New Palestine ultimately came up short, they really made Hamilton Heights work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 23-25, 25-21, 25-22.

Natalie Sevier paced New Palestine's offense, picking up 14 kills. Sevier got some help from Samantha Gooding and her 41 assists. Sevier also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Emersyn Robinson, racking up two apiece.

New Palestine's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Hamilton Heights, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Looking ahead, New Palestine will host Greenfield-Central at 7:00 p.m. on September 4. As for Hamilton Heights, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Lawrence North on the 28th.
