Basketball Recap: Addy Peters Key Part of a Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Archer City played in conference for the first time on Tuesday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They came out on top against the Electra Tigers by a score of 28-21. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 38-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Archer City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addy Peters led the charge by putting up 11 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Peters has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Millie Mayo, who posted seven points.

Archer City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Archer City has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Electra, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Coincidentally, Archer City and Electra will both be playing Olney the next time they take the court. Archer City will head out to face Olney at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, while Electra will host them at 6:15 p.m. on January 7th.
