Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Woods Wildcats vs. Cypress Springs Panthers

Cypress Woods is 0-10 against Cypress Springs since February of 2020 but things could change on Saturday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cypress Woods Wildcats duke it out with the Cypress Springs Panthers at 12:00 p.m.

Last Wednesday, Cypress Woods came up short against Cypress Lakes and fell 47-37.

Meanwhile, Cypress Springs entered their tilt with Langham Creek on Thursday with 18 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 19. Everything went their way against the Lobos as they made off with a 58-35 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Cypress Springs' victory was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Cypress Woods, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-14.

Cypress Woods took a serious blow against Cypress Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 69-30. Can Cypress Woods avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
