Recap: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Coffee Trojans
The Atkinson County Rebels lost against the Coffee Trojans back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Atkinson County was outmatched by Coffee on the road and fell 64-27. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Atkinson County has scored all season.
Coffee got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tyriq Edwards out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Junitho Benson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Atkinson County bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Coffee, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.
Atkinson County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Georgia Christian at 7:30 a.m. on January 5, 2024. Georgia Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 178 points over their last three matches. Coffee will be home for the holidays to greet Camden County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Camden County will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
