Basketball Recap: Poynette Comes Up Short

Poynette was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They took a 73-59 bruising from the Baraboo Thunderbirds. If the Pumas were looking for revenge after losing 66-34 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Poynette's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Baraboo, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poynette will venture away from home to take on Lake Mills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Mills knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 games -- so hopefully Poynette likes a good challenge. As for Baraboo, they are taking a road trip to square off against Reedsburg at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Baraboo is facing Reedsburg at the right time seeing as Reedsburg is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
