Softball Game Preview: Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers vs. Andrew Thunderbolts

Bradley-Bourbonnais is 8-2 against Andrew since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Boilermakers will host the Thunderbolts at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bradley-Bourbonnais 3.1, Andrew 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Bradley-Bourbonnais beat Stagg 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Boilermakers.

The team relied heavily on Tristin Woods, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Pusateri, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Andrew fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Lincoln-Way Central on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. The Thunderbolts' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Andrew's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.

Bradley-Bourbonnais beat Andrew 11-8 in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Boilermakers repeat their success, or do the Thunderbolts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
