Recap: Boonville Pioneers vs. Castle Knights

The Boonville Pioneers lost against the Castle Knights back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Boonville ended up on the wrong side of a rough 60-40 walloping at the hands of Castle. Boonville has not had much luck with Castle recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.

It was another big night for Xander Niehaus, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals for Castle. The matchup was Niehaus' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ayden Mcatee, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

Boonville's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Castle, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Boonville will square off against Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Princeton is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Castle's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evansville Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Hopefully Evansville Memorial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Saturday.
