Soccer Game Preview: Riverbend Academy vs. Southland Christian

Riverbend Academy is 0-5 against Southland Christian since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Riverbend Academy Warriors will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Southland Christian FLAMES at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Riverbend Academy is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Calvary Christian Academy. Riverbend Academy was the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Calvary Christian Academy on Monday. With the Warriors ahead 7-1 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Their offense was hitting Calvary Christian Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Keeton Clegg led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Southland Christian kept a clean sheet against Eastland Christian on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Hurricanes as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Riverbend Academy might still be hurting after the 6-3 loss they got from Southland Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Riverbend Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
