Basketball Recap: Battle Ground Academy Wildcats vs. Providence Christian Academy LIONS
The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats lost against the Providence Christian Academy LIONS back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Battle Ground Academy suffered a tough 67-41 loss at the hands of the LIONS. While losing is never fun, Battle Ground Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the LIONS are ranked 34th).
Battle Ground Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Abby Mclay, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ann Gentry Lambert, who scored eight points.
Battle Ground Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Providence Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Battle Ground Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Middle Tennessee Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday. Providence Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
