The Diego Rivera Huskies will square off against the Jefferson Democrats at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Diego Rivera is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Everything went their way against Maywood CES as they made off with an 18-11 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Huskies sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Meanwhile, Jefferson made easy work of Manual Arts on Wednesday and carried off a 27-3 win. That 24 run margin sets a new team best for the Democrats this season.

Valerie Echevarria was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Echevarria was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two triples, and two stolen bases. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jefferson got a massive performance out of Brenda Hernandez, who fired off two home runs, five runs, and five RBI while going 5-for-5. Those five runs gave Hernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Melanie Garcia, who fired off one home run, five runs, and two stolen bases while going 5-for-5.
