Basketball Recap: Hardaway Snags 17th Victory in Last 18 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hardaway walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Franklin County Lions 81-22. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Mikayla Johnson, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on her way to 30 points. What's more, she also posted a 77% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Rhianna Boynton was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Hardaway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 61 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Hardaway is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.9 points. Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 16-13.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hawks duke it out with the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Hardaway surely won't give up without a fight. Franklin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
