Oxford Academy and Village Christian squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Oxford Academy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Crusaders, falling 3-0. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Village Christian found their leader in sophomore Walton Salazar, who had seven digs and one block. Salazar is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 18 or more in each of the last nine games he's played.

Oxford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Village Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-14 record this season.

Oxford Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Village Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Quartz Hill on the 10th.
