Basketball Game Preview: Lomega Raiders vs. Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers

Lomega hasn't had much luck against Pond Creek-Hunter recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Lomega Raiders will challenge the Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers at 8:00 p.m. Pond Creek-Hunter took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Lomega, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Lomega was fully in charge, breezing past Seiling 75-46. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Pond Creek-Hunter came up short against Hooker on Saturday, falling 49-24. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 34th).

Lomega pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 37.7 points. As for Pond Creek-Hunter, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Lomega couldn't quite finish off Pond Creek-Hunter in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 56-53. Can Lomega avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
