Recap: Norfolk Panthers vs. Benson Bunnies

The Norfolk Panthers fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Benson Bunnies on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 65-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bunnies. Norfolk was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Benson apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Sullivan, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Streich, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Norfolk's loss was their 20th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-8. As for Benson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Norfolk will take on Kearney at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Kearney's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. As for Benson, they will play host again and welcome Gretna East, where tip off is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Gretna East is ranked 189th, while Benson is ranked 200th).
