Riley Rowe was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Vada Allen was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leah DeArmitt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
LaBrae was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in five consecutive contests.
LaBrae's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Newton Falls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5-1.
Newton Falls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: LaBrae has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.1 hits per game.
