Basketball Recap: Storm Lake St. Mary Comes Up Short

Storm Lake St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Alta-Aurelia Warriors 62-23. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 83-30 back in December of 2024.

Storm Lake St. Mary's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Alta-Aurelia, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Storm Lake St. Mary will face off against East Sac County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Storm Lake St. Mary is facing East Sac County at the right time seeing as East Sac County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Alta-Aurelia, they will challenge South Central Calhoun at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
