Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sandy). They blew past the Gresham Gophers 61-21 at home on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Despite the loss, Gresham still got an impressive performance from Liam Arnold, who rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 130 yards on nine of 16 attempts. The win got Sandy back to even at 3-3. As for Gresham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Central Catholic will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Sandy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gresham, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Nelson at 7:00 p.m. Nelson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Gresham likes a good challenge.
