Central City/Centura put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Wahoo/Bishop Neumann Warriors 11-2. Fans of the Kernels have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Barrett Fries spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colter Lueders was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Mason Gorecki was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Lueders wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Central City/Centura lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.

Central City/Centura's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Wahoo/Bishop Neumann, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Central City/Centura is set to face off against their familiar foe Fairbury at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Wahoo/Bishop Neumann will challenge rival Elkhorn at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
