With a playoff win on the line, Evangelical Christian rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Southwest Florida Christian King with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Sentinels, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Hayden Billie tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Keaunna Green, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Billie, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Evangelical Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Evangelical Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.6 runs. As for Southwest Florida Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 14-11.

Looking ahead, Evangelical Christian will challenge Shorecrest Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sentinels 2.9, the Chargers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Southwest Florida Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
