Baseball Recap: Luverne Picks Up Seventh Straight Win on the Road

Luverne's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Jackson County Central Huskies 19-1. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Blake Sauer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, Carter Sehr was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, six RBI, and two triples. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Landon Ahrendt, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3.

Luverne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Luverne's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Jackson County Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
