Rampart snaps three-game streak of wins on the road

Recap: Rampart Rams vs. Pine Creek Eagles

After a string of four wins, the Rampart Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 75-29 defeat at the hands of Pine Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rampart has scored all season.

When it comes to explaining why Rampart lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emily Huxtable. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with three blocks and two steals. That was a full 48.3% of Rampart's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Leading Pine Creek to victory were Alli Dreessen and Brooklyn Stewart. Dreessen scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, while Stewart scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dreessen has scored all season. Leekaya Burke-perryman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine assists and two steals.

Rampart's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9. As for Pine Creek, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rampart's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fountain-Fort Carson at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Fountain-Fort Carson is ranked 79th, while Rampart is ranked 87th). As for Pine Creek, they will head out on the road to take on Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
