Softball Preview: West Lincoln Rebels vs. Newton-Conover Red Devils
The West Lincoln Rebels will face off against the Newton-Conover Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. West Lincoln will be strutting in after a win while Newton-Conover will be coming in after a loss.
While West Lincoln's victory against Foard wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. West Lincoln had just enough and edged out Foard 6-4.
Gabrielle Wright was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. Wright was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.
