Recap: Autauga Academy Generals vs. Edgewood Academy Wildcats
The Autauga Academy Generals fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Edgewood Academy Wildcats on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 58-55. Autauga Academy has struggled against Edgewood Academy recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Johnny Groves was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for Edgewood Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Groves has scored at least 25% of Edgewood Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Drew Allison, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Autauga Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Edgewood Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Autauga Academy will take on Evangel Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Edgewood Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lee-Scott Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lee-Scott Academy is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
