Recap: Hudson Hawks vs. Bay Path RVT Minutemen

The Hudson Hawks had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down Bay Path RVT 53-39 on Wednesday. Given Hudson's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Bay Path RVT is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Bay Path RVT lost, one person who can't be blamed is Greg Downie. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dale Nussey, who scored nine points.

The victory got Hudson back to even at 4-4. As for Bay Path RVT, they have fallen quite a ways from their 14-7 record last season and are now at 1-4.

Hudson will head out on the road to face off against Tyngsborough at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyngsborough is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Bay Path RVT, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Francis Parker Charter Essential School at 5:00 p.m. Hopefully Francis Parker Charter Essential School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 back in December of 2023.
