Basketball Recap: Trent Douglass and Calvin Cottenden Secure Win for Westside Christian Academy

Christian Community typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Westside Christian Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Christian Community Warriors by a score of 48-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 55-46 back in December of 2024.

Leading Westside Christian Academy to victory were Calvin Cottenden and Trent Douglass. Cottenden went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points in addition to five boards and four steals, while Douglass almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Cottenden has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was JR Kohl, who posted nine points.

Despite the loss, Christian Community still got an impressive performance from Nate Miller, who had eight points.

Westside Christian Academy's record now sits at 23-5. As for Christian Community, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-11.

Westside Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Community, they will face off against Wooster Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
